Thanks for speaking your mind! So sorry I didn't get back to you till now.
From my world view (opinion); we have western culture (American and European), Eastern culture (Asian), and Southern (African and South American).
Please bear in mind that this is the most broadminded approach to the story i.e. The prequels would have been competitions for the best western dancer, eastern dancer and southern dancer; in three separate(?) stories.
This short story was a one shot for the world's best dancer after all those prequels!

そして南半球の集団南部人。

Firstly, hello!! And thanks 4 your comment. =-O

Now to answer your question; do you know how everybody talks about Western and Eastern cultures and we instantly pick up that they are talking about America/ Europe and China/ Japan, right?

Turns out, you can even speak about the 'South' and you think about Africa/ South America too.

So I wrote my characters in that fashion to make it easy to write and easy to read. Let's make an interesting story about dancing!
