I actually dropped this novel a year ago because I couldn’t get past this chapter. At the time, I was already frustrated with how things were going, and with real-life hardships, I just didn’t have the time or energy to keep reading.
I came back after a year because the concept is really good, and I can relate to the MC and the hardships he went through in his previous life. That’s why I wanted to give it another chance.
But this part still frustrates me. He’s mentally an adult, reincarnated in a kid’s body, yet he’s getting blackmailed and dragged around by a 6-year-old. I just can’t relate to him here at all. It makes him feel more like a pushover than a capable protagonist.
My feelings honestly haven’t changed, but I’ll try to tolerate it a bit longer and continue reading. I just really hope this isn’t how he’ll always be — someone who’s easily manipulated by others — and that we’ll see him grow into the kind of character his background promises.
