So no new abilities to take note of here. I'll somewhat agree with Kosuke here Hajime isn't a match for his wives except maybe Shea in physical power as he can react to and block her attacks head on with his artifacts although Shea's body strengthen gives her an edge even if their stats are relative so he's not wrong per say. He is right though if all the members of Hajime's group have a battle royal Hajime would likely be the last man standing because he already would have counter measures in place to shut down his wives should they need to be stopped ways to stop Shea's future sight, a way to halt Yue's regeneration and magic, ways to bypass Tio's defenses and pierce through them, etc he definitely has made a wide range of preparation for all of their strongest abilities and trump cards after his battle with Ehit and Yue had her body taken over no way he wouldn't should the worst happen. Even in the event they have something he doesn't know about like we have seen him do with Noint's disintegration, Eri's trump card, Ehit's spells, etc none of that would work a second time so indeed you either take Hajime out in one shot or said trump card becomes worthless.

Although I will disagree entirely about Hajime having no talent for combat although it was forged through battle experience his shots are at a level where he had to have some level of talent for marksmanship beforehand granted it's hard to say as we didn't see him try out a lot of weapons in volume 1. He is also adapt at analyzing his opponents and breaking them completely and could make rational decisions even during his first fight during Tortus as a teenager that's something even adults struggle to do even though they have been soldiers for awhile. If were talking about natural close combat and magic then yes he isn't particularly talented in this area although Hajime might just be a genius at synergy which is not classified as a combat class but based on the things Hajime has managed to achieve I think it's fair to classify it as a support class if not a weak combat class. Extending spikes into the ground, repairing the weapon in combat, pit falls, etc some minor applications in combat but with practice I think are doable for a lot of synergists given enough practice I think it's fair that Hajime deserves credit for inventing a style of combat for synergists personally. That being said perhaps more frighting than Hajime's adaptability is his undying willpower and tenacity are equally dangerous on one hand if you don't finish Hajime off on one hit he figures out a counter and as Kosuke said basically debuffs you and nullifies said trump card he grows more powerful during battle and never runs out of hp or mana due to his limitless mana and regeneration artifacts assuming you get past his defenses somehow. He also can continue fighting no matter how bad of a state he's in and grows more powerful over the course of the fight and will continue to fight on he basically has guts on par with Shea with his in a sense being worse because he's not just brute forcing it.


I'm glade Kosuke recognizes the massive power gap and knows not to try and win a battle Hajime couldn't in the event Hajime is dealt a blow and his wives aren't around there's no way Kosuke can so much as scratch the enemy. That being said with some luck even if said enemy is wiping out thousands of clones instantly at a snap so long as Kosuke has mana and the original isn't hit he is in a sense the best distraction one can hope for. Although if were talking purely about buying time in a hypothetical scenario where Hajime needs to buy a bit of time after getting injured and the wives aren't around perhaps Kouki would be more ideal for this as he is basically a walking talking meat shield at this point with the immortality from the goddess, war demon, regeneration magic, and artifacts. They aren't exactly up to par but it would also be a pretty cool heroine moment for Netemp to solidify her position and confess to Hajime standing up for the man they love even though they know it'll likely cost them their life and putting everything on the line ain't that just a cool troupe.

Now that it's been brought up I do wonder in which order they would check out in a serious battle royal Hajime would win in the end but his wives would definitely take a long time to defeat and would manage to inflict some serious damage on him. Minus Kaori and Shizuku because they aren't really on their level as seen with Yue effortlessly winning against Kaori while she used limitless magic. And Shizuku has been weaker than Kaori for awhile now although I'm not sure how they scale to each other now.

So the end game harems are
Hajime- Yue, Shia, Tio, Kaori, Shizuku, Aiko, Lilina Remia,
Likely future wives: Myu. Yuuka, Rose, Mindy, Noint, Etempt, Rin Hino, Enti

A perfect 16 balanced as everything should be idk what's going to happen with his other female classmates who want to get weird with Hajime unlike the ones above it doesn't seem like the author wants to do anything with them although they don't seem to be planning to give up joining anytime soon . There's also some who I figured might join later on when Myu becomes of age or later on compared to the others in the second batch like Listy if Myu corrupts her further and she ends up figuring out her dad is a possible romantic option. Although unlike Myu I'm not sure her feelings could or will develop in that direction but it's a possibility given what happened with Myu.

Kosuke- Lana, Emily, Vanessa,, Claudia, Hidzuki, Slime, Hinata, so one more girl for him I guess if the intent is to reach Hajime's original 8. Well I'm sure the last one will appear sometime this arc or during the final arc. Given the fact that each girl seems to be somewhat based on Hajime's harem to a degree I would imagine the next is probably a loli milf? Wouldn't be surprised if it was some low rank goddess as Hajime has Enti and Kouki has Aurlude.

Given the fat that each Abyss arc i around 20 chapters at 1 chapter per week with on and off updates this arc will probably take around half a year to complete unless it's significantly shorter for some reason good for the abyss fans although as someone who prefers Hajime I'd like to get back to him although that also means the final battle would start so I'm reluctant to although we also have one more Kouki arc so it'll be awhile before that happens. I do wonder though what sort of enemy is out there? If they can corner Hajime and the others why not attack until now? Then it hit me the world trees have been closed until now which means that was probably preventing them from coming through because the pathway was blocked. I'm not sure what it is but perhaps it's a variation of the giants in Norse mythology?
